  • Wich application use port 21

    Hello,

I'm trying to install "Serv-U" (FTP Server) on Windows Server 2003R2. Impossible to start the service on port 21. I tried the port 2121 and no problem.

I stop the service "FTP publishing Service" but still impossible to start on port 21.

Do you have an idea ?

    Thanks,

Re: Wich application use port 21

Look if the port is used with
    Code:
    netstat -an | find "21"
You wont find the app with the above command but then you're sure if the port has been released. Sometimes you need to reboot to release a port although you've stopped the service.

However you could use TCPview from Mark Russinovich to view the applications attached to the port numbers.
