  • Create a duplicate folder structure using Robocopy

I'm setting up similar folder structures on all our remote servers so that they will eventually form the DFS.

Is there a way to use Robocopy to create the same folder structure on all servers?

Consider that the parent folder structure already contains around 10 GB of files which I do not want to copy across and the command:

    Robocopy f: d: /CREATE

....does not work the way I thought it would.

Why not use somethig like VBScript to do this for you.

I wrote a script for my place that recreates a folder structure exactly the same on about 6 sites.

I'll need to edit the thing before i post it though.

      JDMils,

      Try this:

      robocopy d: f: /mir /Z /PF /XF *

The /XF * is what you are looking for..it will exclude all files matching * (ie everthing)

        I would suggest

        robocopy d: f: /e /z /xf *

and if you wish to see & log what is going on as it is running then use

        robocopy d: f: /e /z /xf * /tee /log:RobocopyLog.txt
        Best wishes,
