Quickly, what happens with the licensing aspect when upgrading a DC from 2000 to 2003? Specifically, I will install, prepare, promote a W2K3 server to the DC and eliminate the 2K DC but do the 2000 licenses follow? I'm not clear on the licensing. This also applies to Exchange 2000 to 2003...what happens with the 2000 licenses?

No....Licensing is separate for all these products.

So what you're saying is that my Windows 2000 licenses are no longer any good??? You are also saying my Exchange 2000 licenses are no good? These don't upgrade when I upgrade the various products?

Because of the complexities involved in licensing, I would suggest you contact your local Microsoft office, explain your situation and get an answer from them.
