  • DNS settings for company website

Users on my network (network.com) can not access the company website (www.network.com).

I know I have to configure the DNS server to specify that ip x.x.x.x equals the www.network.com.
    I just don't know where...

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

    M.

    answer

open the DNS console (administrative Tools) and then open the server, then open the forward lookup zone, and then open network.com.
create a new "a" (host) record and specify the IP and computer name (www).

          DHCP donot update DNS

          Hi all,
I have a PDC running windows 2003 server with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and WINS. For a while of using, I found that my DHCP service do not (or cannot) update new lease IP adress to DNS. As the result, new host could not be found by any other. I've reistalled DNS and DHCP. Now, DHCP is able to update only the reverse zone, not the forward zone. In this way, new host is still unable to be lookuped by name.
This problem is quite strange for me, please help.

          Thank you in advance.

            Hi Ducko

did u check the zone properties for dynamic updates, and DHCP properties for updating DNS records ?

Sure, DNS is allowed both secure and non-secure updating. and DHCP has been configured to always update A record and PTR record.
