Is this a Domain or standalone server setup?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Re: Migrating from Win2000 to Win2003

Install Windows 2003 Server. If it is the R2 version then the ForestPrep and DomainPrep need to be run (on the Windows 2000 DC ) from the 2nd CD to update the AD schema. Run DCPROMO on 2003 Server and allow to synchronise with the 2000 Server. The FSMO roles may also need to be moved depending on what you want to do with the 2000 Server.

That is about as far as I can go with the limited info you have provided.
              1 1 was a racehorse.
              2 2 was 1 2.
              1 1 1 1 race 1 day,

                Just to add,

If going forward you do not want to use Windows 2000 DC then ensure that new DC is a GC and DNS.

Also ensure the good health of new Windows 2003 DC before demoting the 2000 DC.
