    More details please...

Is it onboard or separate audio?
Is it enabled in BIOS (if onboard)?
Are the drivers specific for 2K3 server?
What errors appear in device manager?

Installing an audio card on a Server is not a real good idea as you then tend to use the Server as a workstation. Sound is not necessary on a Server.

Are you saying you are using Windows Server 2003 as a desktop PC? That seems a very expensive "sledgehammer to crack a nut" solution!

              Can you please tell us:

make and model of server (or of Motherboard)
make and model of sound card if separate
If you look in device manager, do you see any unknown devices or devices with errors?

Since its an Office PC, don't you think you should ask your IT Department to sort it all out for you? Failing that:

On the case there will be a big label e.g. DELL or COMPAQ
There may also be a model number e.g. PowerServer 2600
On the back there will be a sticker with model number and serial number (If it's a Dell there will also be a service tag that lets you find the exact drivers on their site)

Can you open it up and look inside?
Can you also post a screen shot of the audio section of Device Manager?
Is there any evidence for you to assume you actually have a sound card?

We have yet to find out if the Server has an Audio device installed in it. If it is a real server my bet is that there won't be one.

Will USB speakers work without any sound card installed / enabled on the computer? I have a sneaking feeling they will....

According to the Intel site(http://www.intel.com/support/motherb...sktop/d865gbf/), it has SoundMAX4* XL Audio on-board

Have you gone into the BIOS and checked audio is enabled?

There are no specific drivers for Server 2003, but XP drivers may work
The link to the XP drivers is:

Note I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY for any problems resulting from installing any of these drivers!
