  • Error Message

I keep getting the following message in the events viewer: "A duplicate name has been detected on the TCP network. The IP address of the machine that sent the message is in the date. Use nbtstat - n in a command window to see which name is in the conflict state."

I did that and can't make heads or tales out of what I am seeing.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>nbtstat -n

    Team 1:

What is this showing me? What is the error? How do I correct it? The same error is being created every 15 to 20 seconds.

    Re: Error Message

    Hi A111158,
What you are getting is an error about two devices having the same netbios name. Are they both named the same?
You haven't provided the error code there but error codes 4319 and 4320 have technet articles to help resolve them.
The codes can be explained with this page.

    Hope it helps.
