  • Copying security permisions from one folder to another

    Hello,

I have a task to synchronize (change) ACL on a set of of folders.

Predefined ACL is on a source folder and changes should apply on about 1000+ folders with same ACL. They are all on the same server and path looks like:

    source: \\server\source\folder

    destination: \\server\%n%\folder
    where n are different names.

    Robocopy /secfix doesn't work.

How would you solve this problem?

what arguments did you use in addition to the '/secfix' command?

By default, Robocopy copies file data for any file that appears to be older, newer, or changed. You can use the /secfix parameter when you run the Robocopy command line to copy only security information for existing files. Additionally, you must use the /xo parameter, the /xn parameter, and the /xc parameter when you run the Robocopy command with the /secfix parameter, for example:
    robocopy source destination /secfix /xo /xn /xc
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323275
its easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
