  • Lamer on Server 2003...

Running server 2003 w/all XP Pro boxes on small lab in my home. All updates and service packs.

I have created several shares on my server and assigned full control/everyone to the most important one MP3's. After anyone has been logged on for a period of time(I have not timed sessions) I cannot access this shared or other shared folders.I must log off then log back in to access the share.Does it time out?How can I change it?

By default W2K and Win2003 disconnects un-used network shares after 15 minutes. You can change this timeout from the GPO.

      Thanks...

I found this... net config server /autodisconnect:"time"

      30 was default setting.
      Thanks

Great, however try looking in the GPO as I told you, the 15 minute timeout still applies.
