  • Partial Internal Domain Name Change?

Well, I'm on the job three months now and have inherited all of the problems a "consulatant" created and or ignored over the past 7 years.

My latest problem: Our internal domain is domain.com. The same name as our web presence. We are having a few issues because of this. We are also having issues that other departments want to blame on this rather than doing their jobs. But I digress....

I thought I read some years ago that renaming from domain.com to domain2.com is a huge undertaking, but renaming from domain.com to just domain may be easier.

Anyone have any thoughts on this minor change? Or is it always a major change using the various articles and tools that have been referenced in other threads.

We do run exchange 2003. We do have a VPN to another building. We do have dial-in VPN users out there. We do have people that only use webmail. That's all I can think of right now.

I would imagine most of the issue you have are DNS issues are they not.

Is your domain a server 2003 domain??
