  • Remove a domain from the login domain list

I recently removed a domain from the forest (manually; the server died a horrible death) but the domain list displayed at the login screen continues to include the old domain. How can I remove this?

    Think DNS and WINS.

remove it from the metadata then run
      netdiag /fix
      dcdiag /fix

and everything will be fine then

Re: Remove a domain from the login domain list

        FINALLY found the answer...

The deleted DC was in a trust relationship with the other DC... problem solved by AD Domains & Trusts --> right-click domain --> Properties --> Trusts, and deleting the trust.
