Is it possible to add 2003 DC's to a 2000 domain?

Yes - You need to make sure you run FORESTPREP and DOMAINPREP from the i386 folder on the Windows 2003 Media (CD2 if its windows 2003 R2)

    This should help you:

      thanks,

I'm understanding that after running the scripts, upgrade of the 2000 dc's are mandatory...in other words Microsoft recommends that all dc's be the same version?

Once your 2003 DC's are up and running then you should look to upgrade your 2000 DC's to 2003 but there's no rush. Once all your DC's are 2003 you will get more functionality by being able to raise the domain and forest levels to Windows 2003 but there's urgent requirement
