  • USB ISDN Modem Server 2000 for sharing internet

    To all experts.
Is it possible to connect an ISDN USB modem or any USB ADSL modem to my windows 2000 server?
How do configure my Server so that all users can share the internet?
I have searched the internet but without any proper solution. Iam not in favour of using ICS.

Since you do not want to use ICS, you cannot use the USB modem.
All it does is connect a single computer to the internet.
An ADSL router will be very cheap and allow all PCs on your LAN to connect, so you are not dependent on one machine being switched on.

A basic router (4 ethernet ports, no WiFi) costs about 25 in the UK and I presume similar elsewhere. It will also offer some security in the form of NAT, also port forwarding e.g. for a mail server
