  • Active Directory installation terminates services.exe with status code 128

I have a Dell 1400 which I rebuilt.I have installed Windows 2000 Advanced Server on it. All the hardware, memory, drives, etc check out . It sorks great except now I am trying to upgrade to Active Directory. When I start the DCPROMO process I get the screens about new AD, new forest, etc... Then I click and get to the point where is is asking for the nake of the new domain. Before I can enter I get a pop-up the informs me that "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM c:\winnt\system32\services.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 128. System will now shutdown" 30 sec later I've rebooted.
    1. Followed all the instructions regarding incorrect references (Article ID : 318447 )
    2. I've already installed SP4 again (Article ID : 315105 ) & (Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-039)

    Any other suggestions?
