  • Configure IP Helper on Windows Server 2003

    Hi all

We currently have a Windows Server (2003) doing some simple routing and DHCP for the segment it is routing for. We now want to remove the DHCP and configure IP Helper.

Any one got a link or any help?

    Cheers

Re: Configure IP Helper on Windows Server 2003

        Need more information.

TCP/IP Helper is a parameter that is configured on a Cisco router/switch which helps BOOTP packets find their correct destination when BOOTP forwarding is disabled on a routed network.

DHCP Services run on the Windows 2003 server.

Normally you would configure the TCP/IP Helper address as that of the Windows server that's running DHCP.

That said, what is the question?

Its ok folks Guy T has helped me out on MSN. I need to setup the DHCP relay on the 2k3 RRAS Box and configure a new scope on my main DHCP server for the subnet which the RRAS box routes for.
