  • Dead server help

My server is dead and I need to know how to move AD, DNS, and Exchange 2003 to a new box with the same domain name. Is there any tools I can use to do this task?

The new box will have different hardware (systemboard, processor).

Oh ouch. Sorry for your loss.

Good... Decent... both are subjective and irrelevant terms when it comes to backups.

Either you have working backups, or you don't

Anyway, several questions need to be answered in order to determine how to proceed. What kind of backups do you have? What software? What vendor? ASR backups? System?State? Full? Differential? Incremental? What is your normal backup schedule rotation (detail by day of the week), what day and what time did the server fail? Do you have any other DCs, DNS, and Exchange servers?
