  • WorkGroup System not show in My Netwrok Places

    Dear All,
    We have Windows server 2003 ,
    from client site (Win XP sp2) when we login to workgroup we can't see domain system also Workgroup [/B]system, but
    when login to domin we can see only domain system not workgroup

    also we share some folder on server when workgroup user want to access that folder it ask Username and password like
    start - Run - \\server
    it ask username and passsword
    but when domain user try to open
    it don't ask username and password
    but they are not access workgroup system

    from bothworkgroup and domian
    when we give UNC path of nay system it open
    but that system not show in workgroup or in doamin

    Choose a security model and stick with it. As you are finding out, using a hybrid of workgroups and domains is painful. Hopefully you have subscribed to this thread because I'm not in an emailing mood right now.

    PS. The use of my network places is overrated and its usefulness has deteriorated over the years based on larger more complex network designs.
