Re: failed to save user setting

Changing a user setting using what tool? Active Directory Users and Computers?

Are your domain controllers available? Are your FSMO roles in tact? Do you have the permissions to change the object attributes in question? How is AD delegated in your environment? For example, objects can be granularly be set such that an admin can change the user's street address, but maybe not their phone number (without the correct permissions).

Jas, thank you for the reply.

if i try to change the live communication setting (to yes), then i get this message, but only to a number of users.

I have just 1 windows 2003 server with AD, i am the administrator, so...

if you can help me out, would be great

      regards henk

        i tried the following:

in active directory i clicked right on a user, then i choose <enable live communication' then a wizard starts, i enter the server, then next, and i see the action failed.

        any idea ??
