  • "The Network BIOS Session Limit Exceeded "

    Hi Guys,

today i had a problem that a win 2003 server can't communicate with win 2000 server, and i recieve this error "The Network BIOS Session Limit Exceeded",
when trying to use the server anyway, for example NET USE, or how i tried with RUN \\SERVERNAME.

From other servers, not from the 2003 Server i could communicate with the 2k server, i tried to google for it, and it came with FTP/IIS issues, but that did not help, after REBOOTing the 2k server, all is ok now.

    Anyone had that error before?
Is the problem in the 2003 or the 2000 server, and why it occurs?
    Thanks,
    Retaliator.
    Thanks & Regards

Haven't seen that error before. Is that from the event log or is that a pop up window?

I'm presuming you have seen this

        http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297972

By the looks of it this is an inbuilt design feature by MS.

Why?? I don't know to be honest.

The only tip i can find is the one in the article above.

        ***EDIT***

Have a look at this workaround and let me know if it works.
