  • Moving SAM Accounts

We have an application that relies on SAM accounts. We want to migrate it to a faster box. We do not want to ask the users thier passwords. I am lead to believe that this information is not obtainable for some reason. I think some may be coded into the custom App libraries.

How can we "export" the accounts from a 2003 SAM to a 2000 SAM.

If you are using DC, then you can use ADMT 3.0.
If this a local machine, you may need third party product (if there
    some tool).

Does a "system State" backup capture this information?

Yes System Date does since it contains the registry, but I want to move the accounts from one OS version to another, so that won't work.
