I don't think there's a limit... someone will correct me if I'm wrong though...

      Found this (for NT4.0). http://www.microsoft.com/technet/arc....mspx?mfr=true

      Assigning Addresses and Gateways
Each network adapter installed on a computer can have up to five IP addresses (a sixth IP address is configurable in some Windows NT installations). These addresses can also be associated with up to five default

Re: How many ip addresses can we assign to a single NIC card

I set up a Windows 2000 Server a few years ago for a company that used it as a web hosting server. I had 10 public IP addresss bound to the NIC. This meant assigning 10 private IP addresses. There was no problem there.

This article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258960 explains about a potential problem with Windows 2000 servers having more than 15 IP addresses assigned. I came acros this when trying to resolve NetBT errors on a network that didn't have a WINS server installed.

I've just spoken to our Web Hosting Team who say that they have boxes with 15-20 IPs on each NIC (Windows Server 2003) - and they are not aware of a physical limit.

I have a feeling I have seen 256 somewhere in my reading. Who knows with my eyes, I may have been reading about colours.
