  • MMC.Console.Task - TaskPad

Situation: I have an OU name WildUsers. I delegate it to Petri so he can add or delete users.

I create a console task from mmc, add dsa.msc and add a taskpad from WildUsers OU so Petri can perform the job.

Question: Everytime Petri run that console it will open the whole Active Directory and I don't want him to view everything like that. I just want him to be able to see items under that WildUsers OU.

How can I make it work?

    Thanks!

    "Petri"???

Use "Selected Tree Item" on the Taskpad wizard 2nd window.

      Hi Petri,
I got it to work. I got the info from this site

      http://mcpmag.com/columns/article.asp?EditorialsID=770

the key lays in step 5..."Open new window" it will only show that OU.

      Thanks

Great! Now here's something I miss from W2K: How can you disable the context menu in a new task pad in Windows Server 2003?

        Answer: You can't.

Reason: God knows why the MS software development team thought that this feature is not required and therefore have had it removed...

          Developed Situation:

          Domain abc.com

          OU1
          OU2

Now I have to delegate these 2 OUs (same level) to an admin. With "Open new window here" I can only make the taskpad for one OU.

Question: So how can I make a taskpad that contains 2 OU ?

          Thanks!!!
