Hi, i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what the -k options on the following means! I cannot find it on the net anywhere

    %systemroot%\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

    Thanks in advance

    Re: svchost.xe

I think this is one of those undocumented dark spots. Quote from The Elder Geek's site:
Svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that run from dynamic-link libraries
. More official info can be found on Microsoft's sitehttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314056.
I checked some books from Microsoft Press also that are for IT Professionals ( i.e. Windows XP Professional 3rd Edition, ISBN 0-7356-2167-5) and there's not even a word about svchost. I mean, there is, but nothing serious and helpful.
Sorry for not being able to help more.
