  • Windows 2003 DHCP issuing RAS addresses; How can I stop it from doing so

(before reading- please note I have just recently joing this firm, the server was setup by another IT consultant).

I have a Windows 2003 server (SP2) setup as the Primary DC at my work place. Its also running DHCP for 100 Clients. However, recently I have noticed in the eventlog that DHCP is running out of addresses. So when I looked at the DHCP, it's issuing the normal IP addresses as well as RAS addresses. Currently there is no need for RAS on the network.

I have tried my best searching for answers via the web to stop the DHCP from issuing these RAS addresses.

Has anyone come across this scenerio? I would like to be able to stop the DHCP from issuing RAS addresses, to clients who already has an IP address?

    please advise

Are you sure you don't have RRAS installed on any of your internal servers, this would be the only cause I can think of.

    Topper.

      Edit: Ok they're for 2000 :-/ I beleive 2003 uses a DHCP relay agent? http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...ay+agent&meta=
