  • srv 2000 paging file issues

    hi guys!

right one of my TS has got problems with its paging file

when ever i make a change to the paging file sizes it keeps the same allocated size of 20Mb although i have set the initial and maximum to a range of values including 4096mb

after restarting it has kept what i set the values too but it still remains on 20mb

    has anyone got any ideas?!

    thanks

Firstly are receiving an error message when hitting the set button?
Are you trying to make this change in a terminal session?

      My recommendation for Paging file:

Paging file should be between 1.5 to 3 times your physical memory.

Paging file location should not be on the same parition your System is installed on, meaning if you installed Windows on Partition C, your paging file should be located on D partition.

Re: srv 2000 paging file issues

Try setting other values then, click on set, and then ok.
          Restart your Server and test.

            Have you tried
            a) Defragging the drive first
            b) Restarting in safe mode, then setting the size

Anything within your event log that might point us in the right direction?
Are you making the change remotely? If so do the work at the console in case theres a strange Terminal Service thing happening.
