  • Retrieving Data from software RAID-5 deleted volume

    All,

I am using a NAS storage system with 3 ide drives with a RAID-5 software mirror. One of the disks failed so I replaced the drive and repaired the volume. Disk Management was showing the failed drive as well as the other 3 so I went to delete the disk but accidently deleted the volume. I am currently resynching the drives but the volume is showing as 100% free and I am certain the data has gone. The last backup I have is six days old. I have read about various programs that claim to recover the deleted data, can anyone recommend a good one please? I have not formatted the volume.

I'm not sure about RAID but first STOP doing anything with the disks to prevent any more overwrites.

Look at http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...software&meta= for some links

Depending on the value of the data to you, pay for professional recovery services.

As a general rule, if anything like this happens and you have damaged but useable data, make a backup before fixing the hardware problem!

    Good Luck!
