    Hello,
I have one system with 2 Domain Controller (same Domain), 3 other Server and 16 PC Clients.
The 5 Server will have installed Windows 2003 Server + SP1 and the 16 Client with Windows XP+SP2.
I want install the CALs by Device and I do not know how many CALs I must buy?

    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.

JD, although similar questions, you really should have started your own thread and not hi-jacked Alessandro Camoirano's.

If you want CAL questions answered with authority, give Microsoft a call or if you are in Melbourne call Linda Cruse at IQT Systems

From what I've been told, if you have more than one server which your users need to access, then CAL should be setup per user.

        Jim Boyce Tips on CALs

Per server is restrictive as it is connection-based which includes other servers connecting to your server as seperate CALs.

            Hello sirs,
I have telephoned to Microsoft and they have said to me that the following licences are necessary:
4 Licences Window Server with 0 CAL
1 Licences Windows Serveur Licence with 5 CAL
            11 Additional CAL

Only the first Domain Server are the license manager.

In these days I will try.

            Thanks you.

            Alessandro.
