  • Help,no network browsing on ras access to windows 2003 server

    Hi all

We have a small network containing one 2003 DC running dhcp, wins and dns, there is one other server running dns. Using windows 2003 RAS service the clients can dial in are authenticated, can access network resources view AD but cannot browse the network. There is no firewall enabled.

RAS service is configured to assign addresses to remote clients from DHCP, the scope options are enabled for dhcp including wins server, netbios is also enabled on the clients too.

I noted a couple of active registrations in the wins database where the computer name appeared to be garbage e.g. dave-!))! wher the computer name should be davetest for example. Thinking I had a wins problem I cleared the database and removed and reinstalled wins, some corrupt looking entries still appear

I would be grateful if anyone could shed some lights on the network browsing problem
