  • Share permission structure snapshap

    Afternoon all,

I would like to know if it is possible to take a snapshot/backup of our file share, share names and there respective permissions. I can produce outputs listing the above using srvcheck and redirecting it to a file; this is all well and good, but I would like to be able to restore the shares to the predefine state without manually having to re-create each individual share.

Some insight in to if this is possible or not would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance

Shared folder related informations (security, path) are stored in Registry.
A system state backup will save these invormation.
You can also backup the following Registry key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\lanmanserver\Shares
