Re: error in joining the domain

What happens when you ping the server by name??

Are you logged in with the correct permissions to join a machine to the domain??

Are you spelling the domian name properly??

Static IP or Dynamic from DHCP on server?
      1 1 was a racehorse.
      2 2 was 1 2.
      1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
      2 2 1 1 2

Re: error in joining the domain

try to join the domain by its netbios name.
or try the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) like srv1.your-domain.com
        MCSE 2000 Done
        RHCE Done

I think you may have wrong configuration at your network connection -> TCP/IP option -> Preferred DNS server. I believe it should be pointing to your internal DNS.

All very good suggestions but let's let Rashid_mehmud post back with some results before we either confuse him or the suggestions spin out of control.
