  • Users unable to logon to the domain controller in the site

In one of our sites users are not able to logon to the local windows 2003 DC. Checked sites and service. The DC is attached to same subnet as that of users.and is also a global catalog server .These user for some reason are logging on to a different DC in a another site. This started happening when one of DC's in this site died and I have succesfully decommissoned the DC. Any recommendations are welcomed.

    Please clarify this question.

Are ALL users at site "A" having this problem and I take it they should be loggin on with the server at site "A" but they are loggin on with a server at site "B"
    The Univurse is still winning!

W2K AD, WSUS, RIS 2003. ISA also AVG Server

      1. Open AD Site and Services and verify the site and subnets settings.
      2. Open a dns console and make sure that the SRV records (global catalog, kerberos and ldap) exist and they are pointing to the local DC.
      3. Install the Support tools and run netdig.
