  • unable to remotely logon to client from server 2003

I am uable to connect to my client PC (which is on the same domain as my server) from my server. however I am able to ping to it. I am also able to logon remotely from my client to the server, but not the other way around. both machines have remote desktop enabled. does anyone have a solution?

    Hi olozano7

Are you trying to log on to a Remote Desktop session or are you just trying to browse a share (network logon) on the client?

If you're trying to use Remote Desktop only the local Adminstrators group can connect by default. If you're part of the Domain Admins group then this is not an issue because when you join a computer to the domain the Domain Admins group automatically is added to the local Administrators group. Also, if the Windows Firewall is enabled you'll need to make an exception for RDP. A similar configuration will be need for other 3rd part firewall software.
