  • Upgrade to R2

    Hi Friends,

I am having 5 different windows 2003 servers and want to upgrade file server.

    1 Windows 2003 Enterprise - Domain controller
    2 Windows 2003 Standard - File & print server
    3 Windows 2003 Standard - ISA 2004 server
    4 Windows 2003 Standar - Exchange 2003 standard server
    5 Windows 2003 Standar - RAS server

My question is can I just upgrade file server without touching any of the other servers or do I need to upgrade all the servers , I don't want to screw up Exchange and DC at any cost.

    Please advice

Read the title -- upgrade to server R2

I would have thought you would be safe upgrading any non-DC / non-Exchange but I'm not sure about the others. Wiser heads will tell you

        Re: Upgrade to R2

The ADPREP component of CD2 will modify the Schema. I do not know if it will cause any problems with Exchange but I wouldn't think so.

You do NOT have to install CD1 if you are already running SP1. Just go straight to CD2.

No known problems of ADPREP in R2 affecting Exchange AFAIK.
