  • Upgrading a 2000 Domain to a 2003 domain

Hello all. As usual, the same question that usually comes up over and over. I have the following configuration...

    - Windows 2000 SP4 as a DC
    - Windows 2003 the rest of the servers.

The DC is an old server which I will be replacing with a new one with W2k3.

    I found this link

    http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true

Just wanted to know if there is anything else I should do?

Once the 2003 is ready I promote that server to be DC and depromo de old one, right?

    Thanx for the help.

I just finished reading the thread above, why it is NOT safe to name the new DC as the old one?

Basically its the same situation I am doing.

Is it possible to have a new server for 2003 in order to replace the 2000 with out name changes or IPs etc?

        thank you for the help.
