    Disconnect the router!

How about a bit more info about you setup.
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

          Re: block p2p

          what model router/ modem?
          what firewall do you use?
do you know what P2P programs they are attempting to use?
come on man! its not rocket science! the more info you provide the easier it is to help - it is in the forum rules, which of course you did read didn't you. do not temp the admins - they are right tough on the rules!!

as a starting point, and a stab in the dark given the info at hand:

I would suggest blocking the ports used by the likes of e-mule, bit torrent etc, this info is available if you do a search HERE

have you tried locking down user profiles so they cannot install these programs on their PC's?

Do you have a fair usage policy at work? if so P2P programs should be covered and anyone found using them should be hit with a slap on the wrist from HR/IT
if the slap on the wrist fails, sharp point objects can work - or in extremem cases drop a server on their head.

              Re: block p2p

How about uninstalling the programs and making sure the users don't have rights to install programs?
