    greetings!

    server - windows 2003 r2 (dc)
    clients - xp (domain users)

just local connection - no internet connection. gpo working fine

our teachers are asking if its possible to have their students publish their webpages on the server. just like asking for a webspace on geocities. so that they can also use www.xxx.xxx on the browser instead on loading the file

    thanks

    Re: web hosting

    Yes, using IIS

You would need to create a virtual directory for each student and give them permission to write to that, then everyone could browse to http://servername/studentname to see the site

If you wanted them to go to www.example.edu/studentname you would need to fiddle with internal DNS as well
