  • Computer Browser Stops "by itself"

    In a LAN of 200+ computers, a few servers recently started having an issue in which the Computer Browser service just stops. No entries in the app log seem to indicate a reason for that.

    Some maybe related entries in the app log:
    * Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.2.3790.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.3790.0, fault address 0x00034d33.
    * Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects.
    * Windows cannot bind to ____ domain.

    We restart the service again and after some time (we are not clear if it's minutes or hours, but for sure less then 3 days) the Computer Browser service stops again.

    Any ideas?
