  • Adding another server to an SBS domain (was: SBS 2K3 question)

Good morning all, I was discussing adding an application (member server) to a small SBS domain with an associate. He told me that SBS won't allow adding other servers to it's domain. Could this be true? I can't imagine that Microsoft would create an OS that wouldn't allow adding member servers.

No, it's not true. You can add member servers. You can even add other DCs. What you cannot do is:
    - add more domains to your forest
    - add another SBS server
    - transfer FSMO roles

There may be others but I can think of them off the top of my head.

      Hmmm - pretty good!

      No domain trusts
      75 max clients

Number one myth is that you can't add more DC's to an SBS domain. Even worse when some believe you cannot add member servers. YOU CAN, YOU CAN, YOU CAN!
