Errors during SBS 2003 SP1 Installation

  • Errors during SBS 2003 SP1 Installation

    After installing a fresh copy of SBS2003 I installed the SBS2003 SP1 (After all the Sp's I should have installed before...) and during installation I received an error.
    Looking at the installation's log file I found the following error:

    Component Name: Server Configuration
    Version: NA
    Installation Status: Failure
    Error Message: One or more sub-components of this component failed.

    related or not, while trying to add users through the "Server Management" I received the following error :
    "Unable to run the add user wizard. Some required files are missing or cannot be located."

    Similar error messages appear for all tasks on the users pane.

    Any thoughts?

    Do you have the Outlook install point installed as part of SBS? This sounds very like the problems people have when they skip the Outlook or XP SP2 installation points in ClientApps

      If you're talking about the Outlook 2003 installation during SBS 2003 installation, I installed it.
      I also updated the XP SP2 in client apps.

        Backup data which is important prior to follow the below steps:

        1.Control Panel-->Add/Remove program
        2.Navigate to "Windows Small Business Server 2003", click Change/Remove.
        3. Follow the wizard until the Component Selection Windows appear,
        expand the Server tools, choose Maintenance in Action field, then choose
        Reinstall in Administration.
        4. Click Next to complete the wizard

        If still the problem persist you may have to reinstall the SBS
