  • Removable Storage Manager Error

On my backup Windows 2000 I am using Veritas with a tape backup. I have all the updates and I receive the following message.

"Removable Storage Manager refused the request to hibernate or suspend the system.

One or more applications have active connections open to this service. Close all applications that are using the service (including the "Removable Storage" MMC snapin) before attempting to hibernate or suspend the system. "

Has anyone experienced this. The KB on Microsoft wasn't any help.

    Thanks,
    Justin

    Re: Removable Storage Manager Error

Are you talking about Win 2000 Professional, for a workstation. This is an SBS forum so you will probably get more response in one of the client forums.
If it is a Windows 2000 server, you don't usually want to let a server go into standby or hibernate. Look at the power options in your control panel and turn off all options which will close down your server.
    TIA

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.
