  • Deleted server computer in wsus SBS2011

I accedently deleted the server computer in WSUS and noticed that it was not longer in "Active Directory Users and Computer" aswell!

But I saw that the server was still visible in "Domain Controllers" I tried to add it again to SBSServers, but then I get the error taht the device is already in use! So now I've moved the server from Domain Controllers tot SBSServers!

Is this the correct way or should it be in SBSServers and Domain Controllers?

If so how can i do this?

DCs should be in the Domain Controllers OU - the SBS Servers is for member servers which have different group policies to Client PCs

    Move it back to DCs

Even if you have deleted it in WSUS, it will be picked up again and appear in the "unassigned computers" view in the WSUS console

      Thanks, done.

Is it not nessecary to see the computer server also in SBSServers? Or will it return there also? Like wsus?

If the SBS is your only server, you will (in AD Users and Computers) see it in the Domain Controllers OU, and no-where else (it can only be in one location)

In WSUS it should be in "Servers" (or whatever it is called) not Clients

Since it has been deleted from WSUS it should reappear in "Unassigned Computers" and then be moved (in the WSUS console) to Servers

The easiest way to reset it IMHO is, if possible, take it out of the domain and reconnect it using http://conect

But this is the server? Do you mean I can use http://connect on itself?

Re: Deleted server computer in wsus SBS2011

no. if it's the SBS server, don't do anything with it, beyond making sure it's in the correct OU as mentioned above.

Then maybe force group policy with gpupdate /force
it should reappear in WSUS console.
