  • clients cant unc/ping/dhcp after office move

    Hi All.

    Really odd one.

    Moved an old SBS 2003 server which has booted fine but no client machine can ping/brows or get DHCP from the server.

    I have re run all the wizards which complete ok. the server its self can browse the internet and ping clients, also browse its own shares via UNC.

    all machines are on a 192.168.25.x subnet with single GW

    i have done the following;

    running ICW
    checking firewall settings
    removing / reinstalling DHCP
    removing AV
    best practice analyser says all is ok apart for the nic driver which is old and dll for sbs 2008 upgrade needs replacing.

    Any help would be great

    Re: clients cant unc/ping/dhcp after office move

    Have worked out for myself. have posted my fix for the benefits of others.

    IPSEC service caused the problem so i disabled it;

    Device manager -> show hidden devices -> non plug and play drivers -> Ip address network translator ->right click and disable it. Reboot.

    Clients now get DHCP address and are able to use all the servers functions.
