      Re: Active directory error

Please only post in one forum, I will take it this is SBS 2003.

I figure this is the KB you were going to post?
      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258062

Have you changed anything? The article does show several causes, do any look possible?

      • The NTFS file system permissions on the root of the drive are too restrictive.
      • The NTFS file system permissions on the NTDS folder are too restrictive.
      • The drive letter of the volume that contains the Active Directory database has changed.
      • The Active Directory database (Ntds.dit) is corrupted.
      • The NTDS folder is compressed.

Can you not log in at all?
The DSRM password can be reset if you can.
      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322672

      Is there another DC?
      cheers
      Andy

          Re: Active directory error

Don't that just piss you off when you take the time to post the same info in a different thread in another forum when the user has already had a reply to this one. Grrrrrrr.

Don't you just hate it when people tell you to do something that you can't do - because YOU never bothered to provide all the facts

Go to the "Forgot Password" forum and investigate some of the offline options there, or go to the top result from a fairly basic search
