  • WMI error on sbs 2008

every 3 weeks or so we get numerous identical event 1065 errors in the system event viewer. it causes the sbs console and all mmc's to stop working. A restart fixes it (temporarily)
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not evaluate the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) filter for the Group Policy object CN={D412746B-E376-4306-B4C5-516C309C54D0},CN=POLICIES,CN=SYSTEM,DC=XXX,DC=LOCA L. This could be caused by RSOP being disabled or Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service being disabled, stopped, or other WMI errors. Make sure the WMI service is started and the startup type is set to automatic. New Group Policy objects or settings will not process until this event has been resolved.
How can I go about troubeshotting and fixing?

Check out what that group policy is (the one identified by: CN={D412746B-E376-4306-B4C5-516C309C54D0}). Look at the WMI filter in that group policy, see if it is relevant and update/delete it as necessary.

After some research, D412746B .... is the windows sbs cse policy. It is linked to the sbs client wmi filter. Can you advise on how to proceed please?
