  • Sending internal mail through SMTP

    My scenario:

Two branches, both with SBS servers and the same email domain. The secondary office used to work with pop3/smtp on all stations. Their server died and a SBS2011 was installed.
Secondary office pulls mail from main server with pop connector, sends through smarthost. The main office has Blackberry server. People from secondary office don't get internal mails to their phones, because the mails never went to the main office but were delivered locally instead.

(Some reasons of using SBS is it gives better backup then local pst files, pricing is simmilar/ cheaper then getting standard server)

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.

Since there are two separate SBS boxes, each thinks it is authoritative for the domain and so will never forward emails to another SBS

IMHO rethink your whole environment and put an additional domain controller in one office in place of the SBS
