  • SBS 2011 Exchange 2010 Installation Problem. HELPP!

    Hi,

I will detail the problem as follow:
    1. I did SBS 2011 OLP installation on IBM X3200 M3 Server
    2. All settings default following the wizard steps
    3. SBS 2011 installation wizard completed
    4. After the installation process completed, I noticed error notification in SBS Console which indicate "There was an error occurred during Exchange 2010 installation and the installation did not finish successfully" There is no further detail of the error
    5. I open the exchange management console and notice that the console was installed but the Exchange server itself wasn't.
    6. So I launch the Exchange setup file manually from Program Files/SBS/Bin/COMPNT/Exchange14
    7. I selected the roles: mailbox store, client access
    8. Both terminated with error indicating that "virtual directory 'PowerShell' already exists"
    9. Nevertheless, I notice that the Exchange server is already up and running
    10. The problem is that it is asking for Exchange 2010 product key while the only key that I have is the SBS 2011 product key
    11. I have reinstalled the SBS2011 twice from scratch and encountered exact same problem

Is there any solution other than doing complete reinstallation or at least in order to make sure that I can finish sbs2011 installation completely including the exchange 2010?

Thanks a lot for your kind help in advance.

      Hi tehcamel,

Thanks for the reply. I did full format. SBS2011 x64 media is the media kit that i bought together with the license.

I have added the attachment of sbs & exchange installation logs in my previous original post. May be that would help giving more detailed overview regarding my problem. Please kindly take a look at it.

      Thanks in advance

        Faulty media?
(Only likely reason if you have done complete fresh installs)
Dodgy RAM (second reason) would have shown up during the server install

You should be able to download the ISO from Microsoft and try again

              seems a service can't start?

              are you running this elevated?
