  • Auditing login and log off's to show attendance

    Hi all,

Not too sure why I posted this within the SBS section, but we have an SBS 2008 server so thought it applies???

We're looking for a way of reporting users loging in and out which can then be used to show who is in and at what time, and who leaves and at what time (providing they log in and out obviously). Does anyone have any suggestions how to achieve this and would you use the standard features within Windows SBS 2008 or would you use a 3rd party app?

    Thanks guys

Cheapest way is auditing Account Logon/Logoff events (enable on DCs via GPO) and a filtered view of the event log. If you have more than one DC, set up forwarding to get the events to one place.
