  • SBS 2008 R2 problem

    Hello there ....

    I have SBS 2008 R2 and i have 45 clients........from last 2 days i am facing one problem in day 1 or 2 times server is not accessable from clients but from client resolve address and name too. and also ping to server but when we try to access network files which is kept on server are not accessed still i restart my server.....

    Have you checked the server event logs?
    From what you say, the device is accessible (pingable) but shares drop out

    What changed 2 days ago?

      Really nothing to changed from 4 days not update nor any software installation......thats why am also confused and main thing is that server is showing in network places and also ping from clients and resolve name too but server shared files are not accessable giving error "This network path no longer available" ........then am restart server all works fine........Event log also show nothing

            How about enabling object access auditing on a sample folder and then testing it -- you should see very different logs when it is working and when you have the problem.
