  • DCPROMO via an RDP session?

Hi All. We have servers that have been moved to a remote location and I want to promote them to Domain Controllers. My only way to access them is via Remote Desktop. Is it safe to do a dcpromo via an RDP session? I don't want to lose the session for some reason and then I don't know what happened.

    Thoughts?

Otherwise I have to plan to travel to sit at the KVM in front of the server

What has this got to do with SBS?

IMHO yes, you can -- I have done remote setups including DCPROMO, but I do like to have a secondary way in, for example LOGMEIN

You NEVER dcpromo an SBS server - it's done for you during the integrated install.

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.
