  • Firewall issues

Every time I join a Win7 PC to a 2008 domain I'm always getting problems with Windows firewall. The workstation will not pick up the firewall settings from a GPO. That causes lot's of problems when it comes to remotely do anything on that workstation. UAC doesn't help here either and this as well is set to be disabled by a GPO but just doesn't get through to any new workstation. What are your recommendations?

      Re: Firewall issues

Well, that's failing to update and I reckon it's because of the workstation's firewall.
One would think when you join a new computer to the domain by going to http://connect it should configure the firewall accordingly.

        Re: Firewall issues

I would try running the "Fix my Network Wizard on the server and see what that throws up.
Then on the client I would run gpupdate /force, then reboot THREE times and check again
